Naomin and I (current default design) can't wait for our little getaway. It's something we owe each other after not meeting up for the longest time. Not really, I think, but yes, still worth the let's-get-out-of-this-city-and-find-another-where-hopefully-we-get-to-set-our-sights-on-good-cheap-food-and-boys. No, not cheap boys. But yes, just people beyond this sunny little island basically. At one point, we were thinking Thailand or Indon. But given the time and budget constraints, maybe mainland Malaysia (KL? Not JB) would be good. (Heard of this Eye on Malaysia thing) Found this site but could do with some advice! (:
Alhamdulillah, managed to catch tahajjud. Seriously, I need to catch some light. His light. And now, I need to catch some sleep. My sleep. But tossing in bed isn't helping. Somebody send me a new pillow please! The last I got from someone was a birthday present from The Brother. And I think I've used it well. I promise I will use the new one well. I usually have good chemistry with pillows (& beds) no worries. I love spending time with them (:
So it was official. Spent Valentine's Day with fellow LonelyHearts. TheMarmaladePantry till we got high on what we think was alcohol though they claimed that there wasn't any in the dessert, which was about the only thing I had at the non-Halal restaurant anyway. (So yes, my trust issue in another entry.) Then the early nighters headed home for rest for the next working day while the rest of the energetic few of us decided to chill at IndoChine where good music and company collide. Saw Val in the distance and dedicated her a song. She was lucky enough not to have been sabotaged into doing something like singing for the crowd which Alvin did the last time I dedicated a song to a birthday someone. Val really was clueless at the beginning wondering who the hell there could've known it was her birthday. Well, until I showed up. So, surprise surprise! Val later clubbed at Zouk (hope she got home safe!) while the rest of us LonelyHearts made our lonely trips home. Like seriously, we held a rose stalk each and were going home alone! All the other couples (There were lots in the streets btw, like REALLY. Singaporeans are that serious about this whole Valentine's sh*t. We even had 3451698 rose street sales along the Orchard Road stretch, I bet they might not even have a licence.) must have wondered what lousy boyfriends we girls have, who didn't send us home. But yeah, truth is, we're so sad that we don't even have any. (Haha, I'm really making us sound super self pitiful but we aren't that hopeless la.) In any case, I had a good night and battled myself getting up this morning. And today was a super long day as well. Gosh. I really wonder where I actually dig the energy from. Went back to RJ for TheGharProject meeting and auditions after work. I'm glad that we're actually making this happen. Keep it up, us! It's uphill from now on. OH and by the way, returned home to find a Vday gift from my former students. Girls, you're the sweetest. Thank you!
Today's a day of passion I dare say! At every angle of the street, you'll spot at least two persons in red/pink. Getting in the mood of Valentine's? Well let's show our passionate side in everything we do be it in love or in life (and work!) today! And yesterday and tomorrow and the days after, my friends.
(:
Was welcomed to the SSO (Sad Singles Organisation). I'd say let's change it to HLI (Happy Losers Inc).

I need to get in touch with a reliable South African to check the credibility of some South African guy/company/organisation who seems credible enough to award me some prize money for some draw.
Twenty minutes ago, an email was sent out to all staff announcing the arrival of a Valentine's Day cake sent to us by Cake Theatre (how apt). At this minute, screeching clean. Thanks to us the Marketing Team who licked off the last slices. Did I say it was awfully chocolate? (: sugar rushhh. is. good. for. mytiredbrain!
This is the earliest I've stepped into the office by far. Achievement achievement. To think of it, I've never been late to work! Now really, that goes a long way in explaining how one's school/social behaviour may really not recur in one's professional life. My friends don't call me "star karat" for nothing. But I still have yet (and do not plan to anyway) to step in here later than 9! Okay that's some personal milestone. Haha. Anyhow, I was virtually in some strangers' (old friends who apparently have not met in a long time so they were catching up; woman with a kiddo and man single and swathe... really? Maybe.) conversation on the train this morning and i wasthisclose to offering a date to a desperate lonely soul at Valentine's. Not that this whole V is any big deal but simply for the fun (and great food discounts all over town and especially here in clarke quay, i just saw the ad in the morning papers!) of it why not. Haha. But no, I'm not stooping so low. I think. Besides, he's almost 30. I think. I think too much. I think. But in a bid to rule out convention, I might just offer single hot stuff who cross my path today a date tomorrow. HAHA. That is if I stop thinking and start doing. But thinkers do not stop thinking. That makes me short of a doer. Whatever!
Three full hours with a short stopover for prata breakfast with the darling Amanda Zain. Throughout the journey around and across neighbourhoods in sunny little Singapore, I say we need to resurface our road pavements. Otherwise, my brother will need to change our seat and install cushion. Though Mother suggests I should just battle the bumps and humps in The Nephew's Huggies Pull-up Pants for extra comfort. Either way, the result of yesterday is an aching ass sitting on what feels like the most uncomfortable chair in front of the computer now. Gosh, what they call Pain in The Ass, now I know what they mean. In addition to that, another modification to make is the installation of some form of device that will announce my arrival. Perhaps an automated device that senses movement in my way and in response, give out a loud "GET OUT OF MY WAY! SIAM! TEPI LAH! ZHOU KAI! MINGGIR!" as some form of warning that I'm going to pass. This will do me good instead of having to "Sorry, excuse me!" all the time. But I like that actually. Gives me some opportunity to humanly interact with my fellow Singaporeans (or their domestic workers) on a bright Sunday morning. Otherwise, I will just (like I tried to) avoid crowded passageways like right outside the church especially when the timing hits right after service. I'm fine with passing by bus stands I guess. The quick motion past the stationary people waiting for their transport sends a soothing breeze of various shampoo scents especially when coupled with a wind that sends their hair free in mid (moving) air. (I remember in my Primary Three science textbook: Wind is moving air.) (So is fart.)
That's my Sunday on wheels. And I mean, bicycle.
The college alumni meeting on Saturday was very lighthearted, much to my liking. It was literally an official time set aside for catching up and really, just passing thoughts. It's funny how we may achieve the same objectives in various settings. Though usually, we don't realise how much we actually reconcile just because we are in too comfortable an environment and what goes around we subconsciously consummate as just empty talk. No matter, I really hope to be able to get in touch with AbuBakar (: for specific reasons. But seriously, I'm sure he'll be an inspiration to the freshmen and having him on the panel will propel (haha think Aeronautical Engineering) the freshmen to dream big dreams just as how (i think) the college is preaching and practising. And his (apparently) softspoken nature will add great balance to the panel since the rest (or most) of us are rather loud and crazy. We certainly do not want to come across as Meridians: A Boisterous Lot. Yes we're energetic but no, we're not unruly. So yes, AbuBakar please surface. Valentine's Day is also round the corner anyway. HAHA! i'm so kidding.
Bright and early and sunny by the quay! I found a new route to work today.
